What is in a standard pack?
Each standard balloon or blimp package, whether with digital or vinyl print, also includes a tether, a patch kit and a hose for filling. If you are based in the US you will also receive a brass tank adaptor.
Do I need a Gauged inflator or BB inflator?
A regulator is not required and rarely used, if ever.
What does a patch kit include?
6 patches with alcohol swabs.
Is a valve kit needed?
A valve kit is not required.
Do larger balloons and blimps come with a storage bag?
No.
Do you provide assembly instructions?
Yes, assembly instructions are provided, including how to inflate your balloon or blimp and handle it correctly.
Are there instructions for the repair kit?
No, it's a simple procedure.
Do you provide health and safety instructions?
Balloons and blimps do not come with written health and safety instructions.
Can you provide display Pennants?
We can but it would probably be easier for you to get them locally.
How long is the tether line?
The tether line is 200 feet long for normal advertising balloons between 5-20 feet in lengh and blimps.
Do larger inflatables require a specially strengthened tether?
Larger blimps and balloons come with an 800 pound nylon line.
Do tether lines have handles?
No. Handles are not necessary.
What colour are tether lines?
The standard colour for tether lines is white.
How long do balloons and blimps stay inflated?
In good weather, advertising balloons and blimps will lose between 1% and 3 % of their volume per day. To prevent damage balloons should be flown clear of poles, signs, trees etc. Repair service not available.
How much helium is required?
Look on our site for the volume of helium required for each balloon. As an example, the average 7 ft ballon requires 180 cubic feet or about 5 cubic metres.
What is the flying time for a helium balloon?
Actual flying time will depend on temperature and weather conditions. We recommended that giant helium balloons are brought indoors and deflated during the evening and bad weather including rain and wind. Giant inflatables can be easily refreshed with helium.
The average 6 ft to 10 ft balloon needs replenishment every 3 to 4 days.
To prevent damage balloons should be flown clear of poles, signs, trees etc. Repair service not available
What is the flying time for a helium blimp?
2 days for a standard 6t ft to 12 ft blimp. Actual flying time will depend on temperature and weather conditions.
Polyurethane versus PVC?
Compared to alternative manufacturing materials which may seem cheaper initially, our products are more cost-effective. We use a better-performing material called Polyurethane which is designed to hold the Helium molecule. Cheaper products made of PVC or urethane-coated nylon lose helium quickly and increase your costs.
What is the lifespan of a polyrethane balloon or blimp?
If treated properly, polyurethane balloons and blimps usually last around a year. Assuming they are used on average once a week, inflated and deflated properly. They should not be handled roughly or stored while wet.
Because the filling and usage of display balloon is beyond our control, no performance or longevity guarantee can be made. Inflatable's should be flown clear of poles, signs, trees etc. to prevent damage. Repair service not available.
Do you supply banners for blimps?
We can supply a 2 metre square tether line banner which flies under blimps of 20 ft or more. Cost including digital banner printing is £180.
What is the difference between vinyl and digital printing?
Vinyl printing is cut by computer, stuck on and can be removed. Digital is printed directly on to the urethane material and is permanent. Digital can only be printed on white, however a colour can be added to inflatables by alternating white and coloured panels.
Are balloons and blimps printed on both sides?
Yes, price includes printing on both sides. However we are happy for two parties to share costs and have their own ad on each side. Contact sales@skyboards.co.uk for more information about potential partners.
Preparing graphics & file formats
Vector graphics (with all fonts converted to curves) work best because they can be resized to any proportions without loss of quality. Typical programs used for vectored artwork are Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw! and QuarkXpress which produce files with the following file extensions: .ai, .eps, .cdr, .pdf.
Rastered grahics will work only for digital printing on white or two-toned inflatables. Rastered art is unsuitable for vinyl graphics and will lose a lot of detail when enlarged. Therefore artwork must be prepared to ACTUAL PRINTED SIZE at 100 dpi. Typical programs used for rastered images include Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro which produce files with the following file extensions: .jpg, .gif, .tif, .psd.
PDF format is one of the most common formats for delivering graphics for printing.
How to upload graphics?
You can upload files to us direct from our website when you order, however there is a 2MB file limit on uploads.
For larger files, email us directly on upload@skyboards.co.uk (10MB limit). For huge files contact us for details of our YouSendIt account on info@skyboards.co.uk.
How long should I allow for production?
